My Quest of “Making it” into the field of Programming !
When you start you don’t know at what level you are?
When you start you are already there, you are already there. But then you have no craft/skills etc.
But then you slog, you learn, you practice and try to reach somewhere.
And you do reach, do you know where do you reach?
You reach in the MIDDLE of the stack.
Starting from the bottom with no skills, you are now in Middle.
And in the middle you go through, like, I don’t know how many levels are there?
1,2,3, like how many levels does it take to have finally “made it”, to have “reached”, to become something that you always wanted.
The worst part is you don’t know how many levels are there, 10,11,12,13, like how many levels before you have made it?
There is so much clutter.
Which is what you are all the time figuring out?
You ask yourself, at what level am I at? Also, Am I REALLY at this level, just because I think so or I am actually technically, at it.
I am not starting and I feel I have definitely not Made it or reached where I wanted.
I do know the craft a little bit. I have skills. There are so many levels in the middle.
Where I am exactly at?
So you just keep trying to get as close to it as possible.
You let go off perfection then, you feel you cannot do 100%. You start doing 70%, 80% as close to it.
How close can I get?
What is the next skill/level do I need to have to get close to it?
Then you start stretching the brain and think back in time to all the skills that you consciously ignored.
You thought you can do without it.
Then you pick one of those and revisit and adapt a new skill.
And the cycle continues.
You gain a new skill, you feel you have cracked a new level.
You feel you have made it to, where you always wanted to be or reached a level higher?
But the real question, that again comes back to haunt you is :
Am I really at this level?
